Description

The location of Shahi Eidgah or Eidgah field is in the northern limit of Sylhet city. The Shahi Eidgah of Sylhet, built in the early 1700s, is considered among the oldest historical buildings in Bangladesh.

This traditional Shahi Eidgah of Sylhet is located on a high hill. The main floor has 22 grand staircases with elaborate craftsmanship. Stepping up the stairs, one can see the Eidgah with 15 domes. Eidgah walls are surrounded by 10 small and big gates. There is a big pond in front of the Eidgah for the worshipers. To the north of Eidgah is Shahi Eidgah Mosque, next to the forest officer's bungalow on a high hill, to the south is Sylhet Center of Bangladesh Television, to the east is Hazrat Shahjalal's companion Shah Mirarji. Sylhet Meteorological Office is located on the hill next to its shrine.
