Description

Lalbagh Fort (Qila Aurangabad) is an unfinished Mughal fort located on the banks of the Buriganga River, southwest of Dhaka.[1] Its construction began in 1678, by the Mughal Subedar Muhammad Azam Shah, son of Emperor Aurangzeb and later emperor himself. His successor, the Mughal Subadar Shaista Khan, resumed construction in 1680, but did not finish it.
