Description

Al-Falah Mosque, as are the other 71-odd mosques in Singapore, is under the administration of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). It is the only house of worship in Orchard Road, Singapore's main city shopping belt.
Built in 1987 on the ground floor of Cairnhill Place, a mixed-development, it traces its roots back to the former Angullia Mosque at Angullia Park. The former site now houses Wheelock Place.
The property itself costed S$1.7 million, and the interior another S$0.3 million approximately, making the total cost of the Muslim communal centre near S$2 million.
After twenty years in existence, the mosque now stands proud in the midst of vibrant city activity, contributing to the spiritual and social well-being of its community.
The mosque's niche is Islamic Learning in the English language. It aims to serve the needs of its congregation which hails from a colourful background of various ethnicity and the English-educated Singapore Muslims.
