Masjid-e-Umar (Mount Roskill Islamic Trust)

"Masjid-e-Umar is run by Mount Roskill Islamic Trust (MRIT) and it is one of the biggest Masjid (Sunni Muslim Prayer Space) in New Zealand. MRIT was established in 1989 and opened small prayer area in Potter Ave, then it was moved to O'donnell Ave in 1993. The opportunity arise to purchase a church on Stoddard Road. MRIT has purchased the church successfully on 26 June 1996 and in December 1996 it was given name Masjid-E-Umar and officially opened"
